Kerem Hasan was  born in Surrey in 1992 and since he was five has had only one ambition - to become a concert pianist.   His outstanding talent was swiftly recognised when he appeared at music festivals and won numerous prizes.   At the age of eight he was awarded the title Merton Young Musician of the Year 2000, and in the same year he won the Bluthner Golden Jubilee Award, his performances having displayed a maturity far in advance of his years. At eleven he was the youngest ever competitor to become Richmond Young Musician of the Year and he went on to win the parallel 2004 Kingston award.  Kerem was selected to compete in the prestigious national piano competition, the Emanuel Trophy 2005, open only to the most outstanding pianist of any age from any festival throughout the UK.  He won the second prize, and went on to win the Biennial London International Music competition: he was the only solo pianist to reach the Finals.

Kerem has been awarded a scholarship to the Junior Royal Academy of Music, where he takes part in chamber music and musicianship classes, while continuing to study piano with the former concert pianist Marion Blech.
